The new band is changing and Jim Cregan moves on to Rod Stewart's new band after the first few months of touring.
We get to hang out with both Jim and Rod later in the year, but first we have a busy winter and spring as we go around the UK and Europe, playing to thousands of fans......

In the audio clip about Death Trip, or shall we call it 'near death trip' I recalled the accident as being in Manchester, but on reflection and a little digging around I think it was probably Liverpool. So that means the old boy had to have gone through a lot of pain the following day to do the Manchester show as we didn't cancel it. It was in Birmingham that I tried to cheer him up with a little prank...

David Wernham, truly one of my best friends in the 70's and what a lovely man he was too. In this photo David was the promoter's rep working for Barry Dickens and MAM for our UK Timeless Flight tour, wearing the tour sweatshirt too.
David at the time lived in Islington, and I was living in East Finchley and we hung out together, got stoned together and I kept in contact with him for a very long time. David was the first manager of The Vibrators and The Tourists, which morphed into the Eurythmics, and he hired my brother as his assistant for a while. I remember vividly the first ever live performance of The Tourists at a pub in West London. In 1980 I think it was, David got me to take a dozen vibrators over to New York to their record company as chrismas presents !!!!
David later went on to manage Des'ree and moved to America. He died May 29th 2007. R.I.P xxxx
In the video below I do believe that is Snowy White in the background behind Jim Cregan. We had a long line of great guitarists around this time, including Joe Partridge who took over from Jim as the lead guitarist when Jim left to join Rod Stewart. Also in the different band line ups were, Rick Driscoll, Alan Derby and much later on, and still to this day, 'Doctor' Robbie Galdwell.
I've got a few of these left too !!
I have a few of these in a drawer somewhere, it's amazing what you find when you move house !!

Always one of my favorite promoters of all time. Good News headed by Andy Bechir, a lovely man who has ruled rock and roll in Switzerland forever. Andy would look after you perfectly from the time you arrived in the country until the time you left.
Another memory at this time was in Munich staying at the Holiday Inn in the Olympic Park. I had never seen a bar like it in my life, I swear. The bar was round and surronded by a huge fish tank with sharks in it. Absolutely freaky.....
